Pretty exciting news for fans of Cosmic American music and Gram Parsons – there’s some new music on the horizon! It’s not often you get to say something like that – good news indeed!
So what’s the craic? Well, if you’re not in the mood for reading, you can just press play on the video below and that’ll fill you in with all the details. If you’re a person who doesn’t like to turn the volume up on their phone ever, we’ll continue with the words.
Polly Parsons and Amoeba Music are working together to release a newly discovered, never-before-heard gig by Gram Parsons and The Fallen Angels. It dates from ’73 and having heard a snippet, it sounds like Gram is in fine voice. Emmylou Harris is on it, and it goes without saying that she’s in excellent form too, because when is she anything but magnificent at all times?
The Kickstarter campaign launched last month, and if you want to stump up some cash, you can pledge for the concert on CD and 2LP vinyl, along with 3 additional 10″ LPs of unheard Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris recordings here.
There’s also some bonus home recordings kicking around, which is particularly exciting too, as well as some Emmylou demos. This really is a lovely labour of love. This will reach a target goal, no sweat.
