90s hip hop fans can be very irritating indeed BUT we shouldn’t let gatekeeping Old Heads stop us enjoying the music right? Right. So with that, A Tribe Called Quest are great aren’t they? They never seem to be in the conversation when people are talking about Who Is Best, even when that conversation is talking specifically about New York golden era hip hop.

You may think they’re in the conversation, but they’re not. Everyone focuses on Jay Z, Nas or Biggie, or if they’re being hip, they look to earlier artists like Eric B & Rakim. ATCQ had a run of albums that’s up there with any band from any genre. Truly GOAT shit.
