We get confused very often. It’s not cute, but it is a reality. We were reading the music news for the day, wondering what we could steal and repurpose as our own like all quality publications do, and well, it got a bit weird for a second.
See, we idly read something about Megadeth – a band we know almost nothing about other than their chequered history with Metallica and all that – and thought that Marty Feldman was joining the group (pictured above).
This is what we read: “For the fans of arguably the most iconic of Megadeth’s guitarists, there is some good news! Marty Feldman is rumoured to be joining his old band onstage for the first time since 2000!” According to the Megadeth fanpage Megadeth of Destruction, Feldman will reunite with Dave Mustaine and co. next month, when the thrash metal legends perform at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, on February 27.”
The guitarist in question is in fact called Marty Friedman, and Marty Feldman has been dead since 1982. You can’t win them all.
However, Marty Feldman did indeed record a couple of LPs and here’s a song where he sings about how much he enjoys the back of someone’s neck. Takes all sorts doesn’t it?
