DAFT PUNK SOLO? GO ON THEN

You know Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk? Well, he’s announced details of his first official solo album in 20 years, titled ‘Mythologies’. Exciting eh? Big tops-off pumpers and amyl bangers? Well…

This was conceived for a ballet which was performed in July 2022 in Bordeaux at the Grand Théâtre. It’s not sounding massively party, is it? It was co-produced by Opéra National de Bordeaux and Ballet Preljocal and will be out in April and, via the press release, it’ll reflect “the large-scale traditional force of a symphony and, as such, it embraces the history of orchestral ballet music”.

We’re not afraid of classical music, far from it, but we would’ve loved to have a little dance to some heavily filtered wub-wubs and all that good stuff. This is what the cover looks like. Very nice.

Since we’re talking about Daft Punk and them splitting up, let us remind ourselves of the video they shared when they called it a day. Very emotional. Very dramatic.

Also, doesn’t Thomas look fantastic in the picture above? We love a man who owns their baldingness rather than taking a Bic to the scalp and pretending they’ve just got it really short. Sexy fucker.
