NEW PET SHOP BOYS DUE

The mighty Pet Shop Boys are all set to share some previously unreleased songs in April. It’s all part of a new thing they’re doing and that new thing is a book called ‘Annually’.

The 2023 edition of the yearly release (hence the name) will be a 64-page hardback affair, containing journals, photos from their ‘Dreamworld’ tour, but also, a four track CD called ‘Lost’, which will feature the aforementioned songs. CDs! Fancy that!

Now, over to the horse’s mouth, or Neil Tennant via a series of tweets on the band’s official account, if you prefer – the tracks are called ‘The Lost Room’, ‘I Will Fall’, ‘Skeletons In The Closet’ and ‘Kaputnik’, and they weren’t included on the ‘Super’ project “not because we didn’t like them, but because they didn’t fit the album.”

He added that they’ll suit this EP of sorts because “they all sit together quite well, production-wise, they’re all super-electronic” and “some of them are sort of relevant to the world at the moment.” He further added: “It also seems to represent a sort of larger, philosophical or political point, where there’ve been times recently where the world feels a bit lost in terms of the direction it’s going in.”

Well now! There’s also a tour that’s just been announced.
