We all need cool stuff to read. Finding it in the soup of the algorithm can be tricky, with a bunch of former broadsheet sorts going solo, and trying to flog subscription content on their mailers and whatnot.
No harm, no foul – but these things tend to skew toward the po-faced and overly earnest. We want some liveliness, some frivolity, some cool niche shit, nice design and someone doing the legwork on stuff, don’t we?
So with that, we mention GULP. It’s a brilliant mailer and physical print thing that is reminiscent of beautiful, whip smart underground psychedelic press from the ’60s and ’70s, and you need it in your week.
From good music, ace art, movies, writing and all things goodculture, it’s been something of an oracle for us for ages now (and full disclosure – we were truly honoured to be able to contribute to them for a while now).
GULP just covered us saying: “Slow content consumption to a niche audience is back – so naturally The Pop Corps appeals to those of you yearning for quality music conversation written without the algorithm in mind.”
Honestly, they could have been talking about themselves as we regard them as one of the finest sources of interesting and cool shit around.
Click here to sign up to their mailout (you won’t regret that) and follow them on Instagram here.
Keep an eye out for their paper publication while you’re out and about in various venues, art spaces and fun haunts, because it really is one of the most beautifully made and interesting publications around. All a labour of love too, so well worth cherishing.
Tell your mates about it. We lift up independents round these parts.
