SHEENA EASTON DEBUT AGAIN

Sheena Easton has had a funny ol’ career hasn’t she? From ‘Morning Train (Nine To Five)’ to being in a band with Prince, it’s quite the leap, eh?

Well, concerning her own work, the lovely people over at Cherry Red are reissuing her debut LP ‘Take My Time’ from 1981. Now, we haven’t looked at how much it’s going for on Discogs, but the redo will be on yellow vinyl, which is really cute, and it’s remastered and refreshed all ends up, so it looks like it’ll be a thing worth owning.

After appearing on the TV on ‘The Big Time’, Sheena went from girl next door to having a hit Stateside within months. A remarkable rise to fame and a real British pop success story, not that everyone remembers this, sadly. Tracks like ‘Modern Girl’ and ‘9 To 5’ were smashes, but there were other gems too.

This is the first in a series of remastered vinyl releases of her ’80s LP (also available on CD etc), and part of Cherry Red’s on-going reissue campaign of the singer’s EMI catalogue. Nice.

It’ll be out February 24th and Cherry Red have all the details here.
