We’re in 2023 and what’s worse – people still excusing M*rrissey’s behaviour or people like us still falling for it and writing about it? Anyway, here we are, falling for it again and thinking ‘is it boring getting a few licks in for the craic?’ Probably. People who don’t like him are sick of hearing about him and people who like him are lost causes.
It’s all so tedious and this might be the last you hear of him on these pages. We’re already bored of writing this literal article.
M*rrissey is accusing record labels of things again because, obviously, any personal shortcomings can be passed off as conspiracy rather than an opportunity for reflection. The label in question this time, is Capitol, and apparently, they’ve sabotaged the latest LP he’s recorded.
Have they pulled out because they didn’t realise what a gigantic pain in the arse he would be to deal with? People get let go from jobs for being nothing more than a whingebag all the time, so insert shrug emoji here? Not according to the longest face in pop. Obviously, ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’ [Harry Hill look to camera] won’t be released on Capitol Records because his beliefs are ‘too diverse’.
Some post (do your own research, we’re too bored) claims Morrissey is “too diverse” for Universal Music Group, and Capitol Records Los Angeles and are refusing to release it, saving us from having internet borebags from sharing it on Twitter, but making us suffer articles exactly like this one.
Urgh.
“Morrissey has said that although he does not believe that Capitol Records in Los Angeles signed Bonfire of Teenagers in order to sabotage it, he is quickly coming around to that belief,” reads the post, which also links to a novelist’s post on Medium who has been searching her own name online and retweeting everything that mentions her. We’re not even saying her name or talking about her piece, so if she shares this, she’s daft.
Suffice to say, we’re looking at another old man heavily implying that he’s ‘been canceled’ and that his truths are too ‘uncomfortable’.
Jesus wept. How tedious this is. He showed his support for literal fascists and right wing conspiracy nutters, and that’s all you need to know. Let’s not speak of him ever again on these pages, including when he dies. Fuck it.
