AUTECHRE REISSUES DUE

February 24th is the date to put in your phone calendars if you’re a fan of avant garde, smart as a whip electronica. That’s because two killer Autechre LPs are getting rebooted on vinyl, so you can load up your deck with the good stuff.

There’ll be reissues of ‘Confield’ and ‘Draft 7.30’. Both LPs were departures from previous works and meticulous and bizarre in equal measure.

‘Draft 7.30’ was reviewed as being “quite a beautiful picture of the chaos of your brain”, with ‘Confield’ more chaotic with the group saying that most of the LP “came out of experiments… that weren’t really applicable in a club environment.” The latter was highly praised with Pitchfork saying: “For those willing to take these times in stride, ‘Confield’ promises elegant production, accessibility in moderation, and one of the most enveloping, thought-provoking listening experiences to come forth from leftfield this year.

Of course, the releases are comfortingly filled with incomprehensible track titles, and there’s enough of the honey-dipped melodies to keep you keen, and enough of the abstract brutalism to make your nose bleed. They’re great lads, the Autechre lads.

Anyway, here’s two links to pre-orders if you want these on record.
