It’s a bit meta, but it’s a great band name. Mediocre are releasing their debut EP ‘To Know You’re Screwed’ in April, and their new single ‘Pop Song Baby’ is a whole load of fun and we like stuffing it into our ears.

They say: “We wanted to write a song that our teenage selves would blast in our bedrooms – as femme musicians growing up in a predominantly male music scene, we pulled from our frustrations of being underestimated and pigeon-holed into certain archetypes. This song and video explores those pressures.”

That might sound a bit worthy (nothing wrong with that, obvs) but don’t let that sway you – this is a good time, fun, fizzing record that should tickle all of your respective pickles.
