If you’ve not heard of Immaterial Possession, they’re an odd bunch. That’s a good thing, before you start any of that nonsense.

They’ve got a new tune out called ‘Mercy of the Crane Folk’. What’s that about you ask? Well, it’s a song that is apparently a tale about a needy ghost that never gets full and having to keep feeding it.

Obviously, the video is set inside a tower, high above the sea and features a hungry sorcerer wizard sort and a nattily dressed pal doing some magic stuff. You can’t beat a bit of that eh? And the tune itself is a skuzzy, psychedelic twangy thing and is all a bit odd and we like it.

The group are from Athens, Georgia which is the birthplace of a number of super great bands and you can look them up yourselves because going down Wikipedia wormholes is fun and if you disagree, we’re not sure why you’re reading this website which is effectively based on endless hours doing exactly that.

They have a new LP due out on May 5th. Until then, watch this.
