Online, there’s a lot of novel ways of listening to music and super interesting ideas for mixes scattered throughout YouTube, but this week, thanks to the ever wonderful PopBitch mailout, we were alerted to a particularly cool thing.
Basically, you can listen to scratchy air traffic control radio backed with lo fi beats, and it makes for a perfect pairing. Not quite as creeped out as Boards of Canada, but it’s got that vibe.
You can choose your fave airport if you’re that way inclined, but should you be a normal person, you can randomly select one, and you’ll hear faraway voices accompanying crispy drum patterns and mellow music. It’s fun to play with and you should give a go! Toyko air traffic control over ambient music? Yes please!
