If you want to listen to Paul McCartney speaking about the lyrics of his life, then you’ll be thrilled to learn that there’s going to be a new podcast from the great man called ‘McCartney: A Life In Lyrics’, where he shares stories, inspirations and all that great stuff about a number of his songs.
It won’t be a pure Beatle-fest though, as there’ll also be loads of ace bits from his solo work and Wings too! In the first season of the pod, you’ll get to hear about ‘Let It Be’, ‘Live And Let Die’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and more. If you’ve heard his ‘Blackbird’ anecdote, we hope the editors have quietly shunted that one under the rug as, while he means well, it just sounds bad.
“It was like going back to an old snapshot album, looking back on work I haven’t thought much about for quite a few years,” McCartney says. It’ll be due to land in September and you’ll be able to listen to it on Spotify. Also, via iHeartRadio and Apple wotsit, and there’ll be a new episode every week. Beatles nerds are going to be unbearable for the duration, and quite right too.
Season one will be made up 12 episodes and the second season will have a further dozen in February of 2024.
