Travis Scott is planning to do a gig at the Pyramids of Giza, which is very prog of him indeed. There’s been a bit of chatter about the whole thing, with a lot of pushback from Egypt’s Musicians’ Syndicate, who are trying to revoke the permit for the show because it “contradicts the identity of the Egyptian culture.”
Can they just do that? It isn’t clear and Camp Scott are basically yelling ‘shut up, we’re doing it’ and promoter Live Nation has said: “There have been no changes to Travis Scott’s show in Egypt; any reports to the contrary are false. We can’t wait to celebrate ‘Utopia’ with you in Egypt!”
The Egyptian Musicians’ Syndicate added that they are “committed to preserving the security and stability of our beloved homeland and rejects any actions that go against its societal values,” adding claimed that Scott’s concerts involve “strange rituals.”
Again. Very prog. Is Travis Scott touring with a modular synth and a massive gong? Sadly not, as he’s got a new song out with Bad Bunny and The Weeknd and it is the very definition of ‘it’s alright… might be a grower’.
It’s called ‘K-POP’ which is Spotify algorithm gold innit?
