Slowdive’s resurgence in the past few years has been a really lovely thing. The kids decided that the thick layers of reverb and psychedelically heavy music was just the ticket, and for many who had perhaps turned their back on shoegaze, it was a surprise to see some of the old bands gaining traction again.
One of the biggest comebacks was the resurgence of Slowdive and getting back into the saddle, they’ve got new music out and are going on a big ol’ tour!
The new track is called ‘alife’ and it’s all woozy and hazy, which is only correct. Imagine if they’ve come back as a Hyper Pop group or something? That would have been awkward.
The new LP is called ‘Everything Is Alive’, and that’s out today if you want to get stuck into that. New press shots of the band are worth looking at alongside the old ones, because in a very cute move, they all stand in the same places they used too.
