Mr Bongo put good records out, and the latest we’ve spotted is a gem from Daniel Ögren, who you might know from our newest favourite band Dina Ögon.
Available on special magenta vinyl (and standard obvs), Ögren’s ‘Fastingen-92′ was initially put out on a limited pressing in 2020, and now Mr Bongo have reissued the multi-genre wonder which you need in your life. Part folk, part bossa, part soundtrack music, it’s lush and rewarding stuff.

Our favourite track is ‘Idag’, which is a super gorgeous funk-folk track featuring Anna Ahnlund. If you’re in the market for ‘discovering’ the next Balearic vibe, you could do way worse than delving into some of the amazing Scandinavian cinematic soul that’s being made right now, and 100%, Ögren’s music fits snugly into that.
