Bill Ryder-Jones – the indie girls fancy him and he writes and produces cool music – he’s got it all hasn’t he? Well, he’s prepping the new LP with some preview singles, and of course, there’s a new one and we’re telling you about it. That’s how it works innit?
So what’s the craic? His imminent LP is called Iechyd Da and this new one – ‘If Tomorrow Starts Without Me’ is a baroque pop gem that we really like.
He says: “It contains probably the oldest lyric I’ve ever written – which comes from when I was about 15 watching Eurotrash. There was a Thai sex-worker reading from a diary and she just read the words: ‘What if tomorrow starts without me?’ I just loved it. It’s always stuck with me.”
The album is out early January.
