RIDE REMIND YOU WHY YOU LOVE ‘EM

Shoegaze making a comeback was probably a bit of a pleasant surprise for some of the older heads, as there was a period where it was cripplingly unfashionable. However, MBV got back together and did some shows and destroyed everyone’s earholes, and the young indie fans got lost in the wash of distortion and reverb of shoegaze bands, as it probably offered a reflection and escape from the uncertainty of the modern world.

While some bands that may have been considered ‘third division’ shoegaze, you can’t say that of Ride who, rightfully, patched up their differences and hit the road and reminded everyone why they were so revered. And we include the underrated ‘Carnival of Light’ in that.

Well, they’re back again with a new LP called ‘Interplay’ which will be on shelves on March 29th.

Andy Bell says: “This album has taken a long time to make, and has seen the band go through a lot of ups and downs; maybe the most of any Ride album. But it has seen us come through the process as a band in a good place, feeling able to shake off the past, and ready to celebrate the combined musical talents that brought us together in the first place.”

Isn’t that nice? We like it when people kiss and make up. Anyway, here’s the new single called ‘Peace Sign’ which is inspired by a free climber that they watched a movie about at the OX4 studios.
