MACCA’S LOST BASS IS FOUND!

Paul McCartney’s lost bass has been on the mind of Beatle nuts for years, after it just about played in all the famous Beatle records in the 60s.

To say that it is an incredibly important piece of popular culture is an understatement.

The great news is that Macca has been reunited with it 52 years after it went missing!

Some thought it was nicked from the Apple offices, but it was stolen from the back of a van in London, only to turn up in an attic in Sussex in a family home.

The legendary Höfner bass has been searched for by McCartney, as well as a project called the Lost Bass.

He originally got the instrument in 1961, and it was last seen days before The Beatles played their last show – the rooftop concert in Savile Row.

A spokesperson for the former Beatle said he was “incredibly grateful” for its return.

The Sussex family got in touch with the project from their terraced home, remembering that they had some old bass in their attic.

Remarkably, the bass was in its original case!

Everything has been verified by those in the know, and no-one is getting in any trouble for knowing anything about its theft – it’s just a lovely reunion story regarding one of the most famous musical instruments of all time!

Who knows what the value of such an item would be, but you imagine that after over half a century apart from it, Paul McCartney won’t be letting it out of his sight for a while yet.
