Real heads know that Swamp Dogg is one of the most underrated to ever do it, and has been described in the past as “one of the great cult figures of 20th century American music.”
Mixing R&B, country, funk and anything else he fancies, Swamp Dogg has also given us some of the most brilliant and funny LP covers of all time. You are implored to go look at the ‘Rat On’ album at the first opportunity.
There’s new music from the great man, and what a title the new single has. He says: “I wrote ‘Ugly Man’s Wife’ with one of my favourite co-writers, Bob Jones, now deceased,” says Swamp Dogg. “I promised him that I would record it on my next album. I kept my word.”
He has a new album coming out at the end of the month called ‘Blackgrass: From West Virginia to 125th St’. Until then, press play on this and go have a nosey around his previous releases.
