It seems that there’s a bit of a cottage industry around Drugdealer, where anyone related to them in any way is putting out sepia-toned ’70s pop, which is obviously a good thing. Are the returns a wholesale great thing? We dunno, but it’s always worth tuning in for honestly, given the strength of the second Drugdealer LP, Sylvia’s ace album, and Weyes Blood by proxy.
So now to Mikey Long, who is going under the Longplayer moniker, who has put two tunes out called ‘My Dreams of You’ and ‘Find Your Way’. Effectively, this is a double A-side, which is very ’70s to do, but if you’re a fan of all that good stuff, then hit play on both. It’s got a very familiar West Coast production style, and we’ll see if there’s an album due.
It’d be daft if there wasn’t an album, with a name like Longplayer, eh?
