The Pop Corporation

One of the fun things about King Gizzard is that, every time they release something new, they’ve taken something of a left turn. They’re a totally restless group who have gone through prog, metal, psychedelic rock and whatever else has been on their internal record player.

Well, this time around, they’ve got the orchestra out and seem to be sidling up to Baroque Pop. This new track – ‘Phantom Island’ – is melodic and very easy on the ear and we’re not mad about it.

We’ll see what the Lizard Wizard have in store for the rest of the LP when it gets released.
