Miley Cyrus has gone and announced her new album with a visual teaser. The LP will be called ‘Something Beautiful’, and it is billed as being something that is ‘hypnotic and glamorous’. It’ll be out May 30th.

So what can we glean from the spurts of marketing from it? Well, it does seem to have a whiff of glam rock in it, which is no bad thing. However, more interestingly, she’s apparently been influenced by ace, psychedelic neon-horror flick, ‘Mandy’, which starred Nic Cage.

In an interview, she said it’s about “destruction or heartbreak or death” and there’ll be 13 songs on it.

Cyrus also said that she’s been influenced by ‘The Wall’ by Pink Floyd, “but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture,” she said.

Aesthetically, she’s got inspiration from Thierry Mugler, in particular, a ’95 couture show, for those of you who know about such things. It all sounds a bit moody, ambitious, and presumably poking a thumb in the eye of all this fashy stuff around at the moment.
