Look, people keep calling them ‘post-rock’, but to us, Tortoise have always been a jazz group – they just move in a slightly different way to more instantly recognisable jazz. Either way, they’re great and new music from them is always a good thing.
After almost a decade doing various side projects, they’re back together to give us ‘Oganesson’, which was recorded as part of a “larger work”, which we’ll know more about in the coming weeks and months, no doubt.
Jeff Parker, Dan Bitney, Douglas McCombs, John Herndon, and John McEntire man the positions in your ears, for a really fun, funky number that existing fans are sure to love. We know we do!
