PULP, THEY’RE BACK

Tell your mums and dads that Pulp are back. They’ll be ready to put down their unsettling infatuation with Gazelles and David Byrne to one side, while they commit to their love of Jarvis Cocker, vintage shops, and plastic macs again!

Of course, the appearance of Pulp is never a bad thing, and rather than simply reconvene to play some enormo gigs with no new material, they have a new LP coming out too, which is nice. They’ve done the Blur route, rather than the Oasis one, because obviously we have to mention the Battle of Britpop with such matters.

This is Pulp’s first new album in 24 years, and is called ‘More’, backed with a single called ‘Spike Island’.

Speaking of the new LP, guitarist Mark Webber said: “We’re older so it’s a bit more mature, but that makes it sound boring! It’s somewhere between mature and frothy pop music.”

The album is out Friday June 6th. Have a listen to ‘Spike Island’ now, and watch the video which has a good pop at A.I.
