We’ve been really enjoying the modular synth stuff of JakoJako, whether it’s 4/4 club music or the more elegant headphone stuff. She’s shared a new track which goes by the name of ‘Dragon Bridge’, and it is another gem!
This will feature on new LP called ‘Tết 41’, which you’ll be able to hear on April 25th, on vinyl and digital formats.
Talking about the track, Sibel Koçer (their real name) explained: “I wrote this track in Da Nang on the day the Dragon Bridge spit fire, it was pretty spectacular and special for the people there and us, especially as we were there in 2024, the year of the dragon. After watching, we went home, and I wrote that tune.”
“I wanted to collect the atmospheres of Vietnam, and strip it back to my language – electronic music. I don’t have huge ties to the traditions of my Vietnamese family, so being able to experience them with my mother, and then bring the Lunar Celebration – the colourful flowers, food and customs – back to Europe through music has helped me realise how important this side of my heritage is.”
We’re excited for this album, and it will be released by the ever reliable Mute. You can pre-order the album here
