Jazz can be pretty impenetrable, what with it not getting much play on the radio and TV. However, the genre is in rude health and, one of the leading lights in the scene is guitarist and big brain composer Mary Halvorson.

She’s got a new album coming out called ‘About Ghosts’, which you’ll be able to hear in full on June 13th.  

Made with her sextet Amaryllis, it’s tricky but melodic stuff. There’s been a lot of good stuff from Mary, and this is no exception.
