WORDS ABOUT MUSIC + POP CULTURE

TWO FROM TURNSTILE

We’re fast getting obsessed with Turnstile. They’re no ordinary hardcore band, and wear a variety of influences on their sleeves, with a richer sound that simply whacking you over the head with breakdowns (which obviously, is fun in its own right).

This new run of music had us wondering if they’d gone a bit Balearic or something, and now, there’s two new songs out joined together in a very lovely sequence of images and sounds. The first, ‘Seein’ Stars’ is melodic, 80s New Wave pop, the second ‘Birds’, a track designed for diving off stages to.

The first of the two tracks features Hayley Williams and Devonté Hynes, which is two great co-signs if you ask us.

The variety in their sound may unnerve some purists – but for those with varied record collections, Turnstile are very exciting indeed and but elements of this video are really ticking our boxes.

The new LP is going to be killer. We can feel it.
