Aside from the countless, despicable things being undertaken by the US government in recent years, one of the things that really sticks in the craw is just how they claim to be tough and uncancellable, while being the biggest, pearl clutching soft-arses on the planet.
Sure, the terminally online left may seem like they’re out to stop people from saying things, but they’re just yelling into the ether mostly. The Nu Right are actively banning words, rewriting history and being weak-as-sharts when it comes to just about any criticism.
So with that, Kim Gordon has decided to make her point with a new track called ‘BYE BYE 25’ – a rework of a song from her ‘The Collective’ album.
This new version uses words banned by Donald Trump, saying “female”, “advocate”, “immigrants”, “climate change” and “Hispanic.”
Gordon says: “(Collaborator) Justin Raisen had this idea to redo ‘Bye Bye’ starting at the end of the song. When I was thinking of lyric ideas, it occurred to me to use words taken from a site that had all the words that Trump has essentially banned, meaning any grant or piece of a project or proposal for research that includes any of those words would be immediately disregarded or “cancelled.” I guess Trump does believe in cancel culture, because he is literally trying to cancel culture.”
Gordon timed this result with ‘No Kings’ protest that broke out across the States, as well as a very feeble military parade hosted on Trump’s birthday.
Proceeds from the track are going to be donated to ‘Noise For Now’, the reproductive rights nonprofit organisation.
