Fans of Bruce Springsteen have been having kittens about the news of an expanded ‘Nebraska’ and now the word is out about what that actually means, and we’ve got the full tracklisting and all that good stuff.

This Autumn, there’ll be a five-disc box set with loads of stuff that no-one’s heard before and more. Called ‘Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition’ and out October 17th, you’ll be able to hear the ‘electric’ version of the iconic LP, as well as outtakes and demos and all that good stuff.

There’ll also be a newly shot performance film of ‘Nebraska’ in its entirety, a remaster of the original LP, and a whole new look at The Boss’ enduring lofi classic.

There’s a previously unreleased trio version of ‘Born In The USA’ too, which Springsteen said: “We threw out the keyboards and played basically as a three-piece – it was kinda like punk rockabilly. We were trying to bring ‘Nebraska’ into the electric world.”

The present-day performance film of the ‘Nebraska’ album shows Bruce playing songs that were never toured in full. He says: “I think in playing these songs again to be filmed, their weight impressed upon me. I’ve written a lot of other narrative records, but there’s just something about that batch of songs on ‘Nebraska’ that holds some sort of magic.” 

After the album, the movie ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere’ will get released, featuring Jeremy Allen White.
