Brian Eno’s Together for Palestine benefit played out at London’s Wembley Arena, and sincerely, the whole thing felt very similar to the rallies and shows that called for the release of Nelson Mandela during South Africa’s apartheid.
During the gathering, there were a number of powerful speakers and performances, and after the show, Massive Attack announced they were pulling their music from Spotify thanks to Daniel Ek’s involvement in drones for warfare.
Reuniting for the cause were Massive Attack’s neighbours, Portishead, who performed their staggering ‘Roads’, joined by a string section.
“We are incredibly honoured to stand in solidarity with Palestine and be part of this crucial event,” Portishead wrote in a statement. “The genocide must stop.”
