Courtney Barnett is great and, more importantly, she’s back with her first new single in a couple of years, with a song called ‘Stay In Your Lane’.

As ever, there’s tension and discordant stuff to couple with the strong melodies, and apparently, Barnett recorded the track in a bid to work through the trials of bottling up feelings and tackling some grievances.

If you listen to this and think that the drums are sounding particularly awesome, that’s because Courtney teamed up with Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, who is one of the best on the planet to do it, no joke.

A press release informs us that Barnett has been “quietly making her live return” by trying out new material in smaller spaces, and presumably the more successful trials will result in some big, proper shows for everyone to see. Tonight, she’ll be performing the new song on Fallon, so y’know, no slouch.
