‘MICHAEL’ TRAILER DROP

The first trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic has dropped. The film is called ‘Michael’, which worries us slightly as it suggests it’s all going to be a little too kind and not gnarly enough to be a meaty movie.

In addition to that, Jackson is being played by his nephew Jaafar, which again, suggests that we might not get some of the less kind things that surrounded Jackson’s life, and that stuff is worth talking about.

Still, not to say it’ll all be wishy-washy and the music will obviously be great. It’ll hit the cinemas on April 24th 2026, and surely, the length of Jackson’s life in the spotlight, you might have to split this movie into two, right? He’s not Elvis who had a relatively short career in comparison.

In the trailer, we hear a mashup of Jackson’s songs and we see ‘Quincy Jones’ in it (who looks and sounds the part, honestly) with Jaafar’s portrayal of his uncle which is… well… we’ll reserve judgement because there’s no getting away from the fact that Michael Jackson has one of the most famous faces in history, so any deviation away from that makes us feel a certain way.

No plastic surgery jokes please, we’re better than that.
