It can be difficult spotting just who is the most dynamic DJ bursting through the ranks, but when you listen to the sets of Kitty Amor, it’s pretty obvious and immediate that we’ve got someone who isn’t just another plug-in-and-play type.

Afrohouse has been growing upwards and outwards, especially around London, but Kitty’s sets are really pushing things on. There’s the echoes of UK Garage and Funky House, but there’s an independent spirit in the mixes that sets Amor apart.

In being the bridge between the fresh sounds from Africa with UK music, we end up with something original and forward thinking. While she’s not the only voice that’s shaking things up, she’s certainly one of the best.
