SNAIL MAIL IN A HOT AIR BALLOON

There’s a new Snail Mail LP coming and that means we get to listen to some music before the whole thing drops in March. And with that, let us listen to a new song that’s performed from a hot air balloon! Fun!

Lindsey Jordan – that’s Snail Mail’s real name of course – says “‘My Maker’ was the lyrical jumping off point of the record, the anchor that helped me build the rest of the album around it. I kept thinking about the line ‘it’s just sky,’ which obviously meant we had to make a video in a hot air balloon.”

That’s fun, genuinely. She continues: “It took six canceled rides for that to happen, but we finally got up there. I wanted the video to reference the lyrics about mortality, but also about the freedom that comes with realising fate is out of your hands.”

Echoes of ’90s alt rock and grunge pervades through Lindsey’s music, so press play on that, if that’s a bit of you.
