WORDS ABOUT MUSIC + POP CULTURE

LA SÉCURITÉ DANCE-PUNK

We don’t know how we stumbled across the music of La Sécurité, but we did and played them on our latest radio show, not knowing that there was new music coming out – which it totally is, and we have some to share right here!

The Canadian group make an infectious, post-punk-but-danceable racket, and have a new LP coming out called ‘Bingo!’, of which they’ve said “it’s not necessarily textbook post-punk, Riot Grrrl, or another particular style… it’s more like a snowball effect, like a piece of gum at the bottom of your bag, picking up glitters, hair, etcetera.”

Nice.

There’s a new song to listen to, called ‘Snack City’ where they sing “j’ai faim, j’ai faim”, which is pretty self explanatory if you speak any French. The new album is out on March 31st, and you can listen to this in the meantime.
