Chanpan are from New York – which seems to be popping off as a city again these days, right? – and they’re a trio who make future facing, personality-led pop, which is no bad thing obviously if you’re in the market for something to get into.
They’ve been making a decent amount of noise for themselves after they released a home-recorded EP, which was met with some good reviews.
Now, they have a new single out called ‘Buzzin’’, which is named not after the ’90s catchphrase, but something a bit saucier. It is cut with their twist on drum ‘n’ bass, of a fashion, and well worth checking out.
In the press release, Chanpan say of the new track: “‘Buzzin’ was born from a sample of a video of a sex toy buzzing. Matthew had a joke about a rose toy that the rest of the band and Frankie kept riffing on, which ultimately led to this song. Chanpan is cranking the sexy knob up for this era.”
They have some UK dates in the calendar, so if you want in, go find out where they’re playing in the usual places.
