Hey look! Some new music from the Lemon Twigs. And they’re in dreamy mode, with an achingly lovely number called ‘Corner Of My Eye’, channelling all that lovely ’60s and ’70s music that they always do.
This is the first new bit of music we’ve had from the precocious D’Addario brothers in a couple of years and in a statement (of sorts), the group said: “We recorded this track winter of 2021 in our old rehearsal studio in Midtown, NYC. Apart from the vibraphone, the instrumental track was recorded live with Andres Valbuena on drums and Daryl Johns on upright bass. We laid down the vocals late that night once the traffic outside had died down.”
“We’ve had the song for a while now, so we’re excited to share it with fans who may have heard it live over the years!”
We aren’t sure what the new LP is going to be called yet, but we’re hoping for a little more focus on this one as – and this is not necessarily a bad thing – they can be guilty of almost too many ideas at times, so if they just apply their considerable musical muscle and remember to write some ear-wormy tunes, we’ll be in for a treat.
This new one is great. Have a listen. It’s good to have them back.
