When you think of package tours, you think of ’70s glam rock oldheads doing the rounds, or maybe some old soulie revue on the Northern Soul circuit, or maybe ’80s popstars wheeled out to do the hits. All good, clean fun. Get a round in, sing your faves, and off you pop. However, package tours either got cool OR you got old.

There’s going to be some shows called UK Garage All Stars which is a collection of 30 legendary artists from the scene and they’ll be playing the arenas. Want in? Tickets will be available here.

So Solid’s Megaman is behind the events and honestly, it’s nice that he’ll be able to make a legit buck on a scene he’s done so much for. These shows will cover the rise of the UKG in ’94 and then bring it bang up to the ’99/’01 period when the charts were lit up by the sound of 2 Step/Garage/UKG/wotyoucalliturban? etc

Megaman sez: “Beside being an artist I’m such a fan of the music; a genre created right here in the UK, which has gone on to achieve an incredible amount of Number One hits and platinum selling records, I’ve always wanted to see it concert style.”

Best of all, like any good garage night, the artwork stinks. Look at the state of this. It looks like Pop Idol tackle. That means you know it’s going to be a fantastic night out.

There’s no line-up revealed as yet, but our money is on Lisa Maffia being there, and if she is, then it’ll be great.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am GMT on Friday, January 20th and you can work the internet out good enough to find out where presales and all that are. We’re not getting any commission from them so why should we do the heavy lifting eh?
