Not one of our writers really knows anything about K-Pop because historically, we’ve always covered rock and indie music. However, rock and indie fans don’t generate as much internet traffic as they used to and K-Pop fans apparently do, so we’re going to pretend we’ve always had a soft spot for pop music, and cover the occasional K-Pop news story to bump up the traffic stats for our site.
Obviously, we’d rather be covering that new band who talk over post-punk guitars and come from a very wealthy family, because honestly, it’s the background we feel we identify with, but K-Pop eh? TikTok. All that good stuff. We know all about TikTok and K-Pop and that. BTS are really popular aren’t they? BlackPink too. That’s what they’re called right?
Look at these guys. Are they hot? It feels like they probably are, right? Have they had plastic surgery? Is it okay to suggest that about people from a different country? Heh, so weird having to write this! haha

Ha! It’s crazy isn’t it? They’ve got loads of band members sometimes. Phew! So many names to learn! Some of them have to military service don’t they? Phew, it’s not like writing about The 1975 or Wet Leg is it? We even hired some girls to write about this kind of thing, because we automatically assumed that girls like K-Pop. Haha. So crazy. We were just watching a video of some band in long overcoats, shot in black and white, and we thought ‘Hmh, maybe we should do that K-Pop round-up article we’ve been putting off!’
So crazy.
We read an article called ‘K-Pop boy group brand value rankings for January, based on big data analysis‘ which looked at consumer participation, media activity, communication, community activity, and all that. Ha, it’s mad. We thought we’d be writing about ‘Unknown Pleasures’, but it turns out the singer from Joy Division died so there’s not likely to be any new music, and that there’s already 30,000 articles about it, so new angles are a bit hard to come by. Heh, so mad.
Anyway, we better cut and paste some info from this article so it includes loads of K-Pop band names, which will be good for the algorithm and the bots who scrape websites for content! All counts as traffic doesn’t it! heheh
Analysis shows that BTS are still the big hitters, with 10,103,467 total brand points, and NCT took second place with 5,087,767 points while third place went to Seventeen. Pretty mad. Not even sure if that info is accurate hehe. We’ve just started getting into the Buzzcocks, they’re pretty good aren’t they? Not K-Pop though ha
Here are the top 30 K-Pop boy groups in terms of brand value rankings for January, 2023: BTS, NCT, Seventeen, Super Junior, EXO, Stray Kids, The Boyz, BTOB, ASTRO, Big Bang, ENHYPEN, TOMORROW x TOGETHER, TREASURE, SHINee, ATEEZ, MONSTA X, WINNER, INFINITE, Pentagon, Highlight, YOUNITE, Shinhwa, VIXX, Wanna One, 2PM, SF9, TEMPEST, Block B, TVXQ, and Golden Child.
