It feels kinda shitty referring to a new artist as ‘Bjork’s daughter’, but needs must. Isadora Bjarkardottir Barney is her name, and she’s released her debut solo work as part of a comp showcasing Icelandic music.
The comp is called ‘DRULLUMALL 4’ and Isadora’s track – ‘bergmál’ – is really good, you’ll be glad to know. Although, nepo babies eh?
The album is available on Bandcamp and you can have a flick through it below, if you’re the adventurous type. You should be. Bandcamp is keeping independent music alive almost single-handedly at the moment.
Ísadóra, to put the correct accents on her name for once, sometimes goes by the name Doa, and has appeared on her mother’s work before. We suspect Bjork fans knew that already, as they’re a keen bunch. She’s also modelled and acted too – talented, it seems.
Anyway, there you go. Nice to have some good news music, eh?
