There’s a lot of musicians and bands that haven’t been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and when you read the latest list of nominations, you’ll be like “THEY’RE NOT ALREADY IN THERE?!?!”

This year, up for the award… and unbelievably not already in there, are Kate Bush, George Michael, Missy Elliott and A Tribe Called Quest. And there’s more too.

Rage Against the Machine are nommed, and along with Kate Bush, have been put forward a bunch, but never landed it.

Soundgarden are also getting a shout this time around, as well as Iron Maiden (how have they been overlooked all this time?) Also in with a shout are the legendary Spinners.

Also in the mix are Cyndi Lauper, Joy Division/New Order, Sheryl Crow, Warren Zevon, the White Stripes, and Willie Nelson. Look at that list. Nothing but legends.

Unbelievably, this is Missy Elliott’s first shout!

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2023 will be announced in May. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony will take place in the fall.

In a statement about the 2023 nominees, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation’s chairman, John Sykes, said, “This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates. These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
