Matthew McConaughey is going to provide the voice for Elvis Presley in a new animated TV series, which explains the terrible joke we made in the headline. Don’t worry – there’ll be more terrible takes to come.
Producers at Netflix announced that the Oscar-winning actor will voice to the lead character in the upcoming action-comedy show, Agent Elvis. No. We’re not making that up. Sounds a bit like Johnny Bravo doesn’t it? We hope it includes some wild-eyed paranoia, cosying up to Richard Nixon, shooting TV sets in his house and his famous compacted colon.
Unlikely, as the show has been co-created by Priscilla Presley (and someone called John Eddie) and will be a 10-episode programme will follow Elvis as he lives a double life as a secret agent. He’s definitely going to do his karate moves, eh?
“Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy programme to battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves – all while holding down his day job as the King of Rock and Roll,” a summary reads.
Mental.
