If you go on Kate Bush’s website, something’s changed. There, you’ll see a landing page for something called Fish People. Does this mean new music? Let’s not get too excited, but let’s hope, eh?
So what do we know? Well, Fish People is a label set up by Kate in 2011. It has focused on re-releases, and we saw ‘Director’s Cut’ put out, followed by re-dos of ‘The Dreaming’, ‘Hounds of Love’, ‘The Sensual World’, ‘The Red Shoes’, and ‘Aerial’. Then, we saw the new LP ’50 Words For Snow’.
Then, some remixes, a live album, and the ‘Remastered’ boxsets. Not a huge amount of new music, but there HAS been new tunes, so that could be the case right? It’s fun to think about Kate Bush coming back!
When asked in an interview about the label, it focused mainly on the silly name of it. Bush said, with typical charm: “Why not? I thought it was a bit of fun. What’s great is the reaction from some people. When I first suggested it I think a lot of people weren’t sure if I was being serious, which I think is exactly the sort of reaction you want, really, isn’t it? I just thought it was a bit of fun, rather than a very lofty or serious name.”
Anyway, the image you see on her page looks like the below. It’s a bit proggy isn’t it? Let’s hope there’s some new stuff to get excited about, because she’s an absolute treasure isn’t she?
