You know Bratmobile right? They’re lumped in with the Riot Grrrl movement, but to us, they were more garage punk than grunge adjacent. Either way, for fans of snotty, smart tunes with fuzzy guitars, it’s good news and they’re going to be playing their first live show in a couple of decades! Great news!

Now, this show on July 2nd in Oakland, California. Not great news unless you live near or in Oakland, California. That said, if it goes well and they have a blast, that might mean touring elsewhere. Cross those fingers!

This new show is a festival and Le Tigre will also be there. Have a listen to this and imagine dancing around to it in sticky weather. Tremendous.

The band said in a statement: “Guitarist Erin Smith, unfortunately, has other commitments and won’t be able to join us at this time, but we’re hoping we’ll be able to play together with her again in the near future.”

You hear that? The near future.

Continuing: “It’s been more than 20 years since our last tour, and life has changed and grown in many ways. In 2019, we got the original lineup back together to play a big birthday party for our band sister, Tobi Vail of Bikini Kill. After the show, we talked about playing again, but it wasn’t the right time, and then… 2020.”

“Now we are both living in Los Angeles, and when the opportunity to play this special show in one of our hometowns came up, we decided to go for it.”
