KARA JACKSON: MORRICONE MEETS SINGER SONGWRITER GREATNESS

Kara Jackson has been doing cool things and it’s hard to pin down exactly what that is in a catchy headline. She’s got a cinematic way with words and on a new track, a killer backdrop of Morricone/Ry Cooder dusty twang. It’s dead good.

The new track (we’ll get to that in a minute) will feature on a new LP called ‘Why Does The Earth Give Us People To Love?’ and will be out on April 14th.

This new track, ‘pawnshop’, is below for you to listen to and according to Kara, is “a song about uncovering how worth is subjective. It’s taking ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ and reveling in that sentiment, taking pride in the fact that even if people can’t understand your value, only you know how priceless you are…”.

Previously, Jackson had a track out called ‘Dickhead Blues’ which honestly, is a tremendous thing to call a song. Again, broad in scope and a lot to say for itself. A tip-top swipe at old lovers and the kind of charming lads who, ultimately, are dicks.

Kara Jackson is a unique artist and we sincerely hope they get a real big name for themselves because things are always fun and interesting when someone like this is getting their dues.

“I am pretty top-notch,” she’s sung. Agreed.
