BOWIE TO BE ANIMATED LIKE ABBA

David Bowie – a man with regrettably few decent haircuts in such a long and industrious career – is looking like returning from the dead, and starring in a new show that’s like the ABBA Voyage one. Is it virtual reality? It’s not a hologram. You know what we mean. Either way, you’ve got to hope they don’t end up making this digital avatar do ‘Little Wonder’ as that really sucked.

A source told some rag or other: “The idea of being able to recreate David’s charisma and electric showmanship for an audience is an intoxicating one, and the prospect of how that might be done is being explored. It’s a very exciting time.”

Brett Morgen, who directed the ‘Moonage Daydream’ film says: “Voyage was one of the greatest cinematic experiences I have ever seen. Could there be a Bowie one? I think there may be some interesting things happening ahead.”

That’s a better way of looking at it – a ‘cinematic experience’. It’s basically like watching a tour documentary, but in the flesh and you can have a dance.

This, the documentaries and such, are a strong time for Bowie fans – there’s also going to be an exhibition of his archives, including costumes, hand-written lyrics, letters, photography, films, instruments and all that, which will be seen by the public for the first time. That’s going to be in 2025 so don’t get too over-excited.

Oh, there’s also going to be something called The David Bowie Centre for the Study of Performing Arts at V+A East Storehouse, in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Like BRIT School, with more platform boots and that. Dunno.

Anyway, David Bowie fans, that’s good for you innit?
