Alasdair Roberts is great. His brand of Scottish folk is utterly bewitching and if you’re into great tales and intimate performances, he’s definitely the guy for you.
He’s back with a new track on Drag City, and according to them ‘The Bonny Moorhen’ is a “fond paean to a waterbird whose regal profile compares to none other than Bonnie Prince Charlie, the rebel Scottish king who dared stand up against the redcoats.”
There’ll be a new LP on March 31st called ‘Grief in the Kitchen and Mirth in the Hallis’. There’ll be shows no doubt, but don’t expect a huge press tour – as evidenced by our interview with him in a previous life, Alasdair is reasonably media shy, preferring to let his songs do the talking. Luckily for us, what magic songs they are.
