Keanu Reeves is everyone’s non-problematic fave and generally seems like a good dude. Great face too, if we’re still objectifying people in 2023. You can imagine he’s got a half decent and very sizeable record collection, right? His house is probably dead nice.

And we’re only mentioning Wyld Stallyns now to say that we won’t be mentioning them again.

So why is Keanu on these pages? Has he got Dogstar back together? Not that we know of. However, he’s given a shout out to a band he really loves, just because he really loves them, and that’s exactly the kind of thing that famous people should be doing.

The band in question are ALVVAYS and they’re probably seeing a spike in Spotify listens, just at the mere mention of them by one of Hollywood’s nicest blokes. That’s the dream isn’t it? And if you haven’t heard them and now want to because Keanu and his very lovely face have mentioned them, here you go.

He says: “I don’t have their new record. I bought it digitally, but I don’t have it on vinyl.” He added that their LP ‘Blue Rev’ is his “favourite album to be… can I say that? Because I love that band.”

Continuing: “I like me a good pop song and I like me a kind of inventiveness in it. And I think the lead singer [Molly Rankin], she’s great…And I love the textures in it. I mean, I love bass guitar and drums and I like their energy.”

Talking to the NME, and not at all related to music but super fun to mention, he mentioned how he ended up in a random pub in Hertfordshire: “I was outside London doing a documentary, and it was just shepherd’s pie weather. It’s kinda cool, not rainy but a little misty drizzly something. And I was like, ‘let’s get a shepherd’s pie and a pint!’”
