You know when you walk into a record shop and they’re playing something a bit offbeat and wonky, and you don’t ask what it is, and it bugs you for a week as it’s got under your skin and you wish you can hammer it on repeat?
Well, welcome to Decisive Pink’s new song, ‘Dopamine’, which gave us a very strong vibe of that exact scenario. Coming on like one of those ace ’80s new wave records where bands would play some loft art party that’s too brightly lit, seen via some ropey VHS of something capturing a moment before everything went overground, this is a great and strange little song that deserves loads of love.
Decisive Pink are Kate NV and Angel Deradoorian, and the latter says: “It was very exciting to step into the ‘synth-dome’ as I think of it. I can’t remember all the synths we used, but definitely one of the Prophets, a modular, a Juno, a Jupiter, a Rodeo, a synth with a bee on it and some synth from the 1980s that Kate knew about.”
Get on it. New LP due soon.
